It can EASILY run GW1 and more than likely GW2 fluidly on normal settings, if not the highest settings.
I agree that alienware is over priced, and you will be going through dell for customer service. Thats the bad news. The good news, if you can afford it and your not very tech savy, is that customer support is available(not the best in the industy), and they can help you if you run into problems or if you have any questions. They also have extended warranties and support services for extra cash if you feel you need it.
You may also want to ask yourself why you want a laptop. For example, If you need it to be really portable(school/work/travel), some prefer the smaller 12" screens, which can save you some cash. Regardless, as long as you get something with at least an i5-i7 processor, 4Gigs of DDR3 RAM, 1G Video Card, 3-500G Hard Drive, and built in Wifi/bluetooth, you should be able to run GW2 just about anywhere. If you let us know why you want a laptop it may help us narrow down the best option for you.
Also, if your a student and your getting a PC, any PC you buy thats worth over $650 with Windows 7, now comes with a free XBoX 360. All you need is a student ID.
